So with being a game down at the Ribble rumble, Colin "Kolco" Deane and I met up the Thursday after down at Justplay running the same lists. We randomised the scenario, ending up with Clash of Kings

Also down at Justplay was Callum Webster, Elephant bane to me from weekend. He had ditched his Baratheons for a more friendly faction in Martells, Sadly, he was playing Andy running his four screamer list of Targaryen...
Starting hand was okay
Colin played Sand Diplomacy at the start of the round, with me blocking Letters and Colin Horses
I marched up both Golden Company Crossbowmen, hoping to keep the Martells hemmed in
Colin Doran take the Water Gardens for two tokens
Colin advanced in a staggered formation, while I kept my line
Using tactical reposition to move his Knights, Colin moved up to charge my right side crossbowmen in the woods
In they went, although they were facing wrong way...
From eight hits, I made five saves. Well, cavalry shouldn't charge through woods!!!
I also passed the resultant panic check, and triggered Sentinel to turn the other Crossbows to face
I then had Varys take the swords and fire into their flank, causing five wounds
Colin healed up three from the bags

I activated Jokin's Swordsmen and charged the flank of the Starfall Knights, gaining two Martell cards for my troubles but doing five wounds.
The Skyreach Bowmen shot into the flank of my Officers Crossbows from the Swords, dropping six. I gambled, took the Horses and retreated my right side crossbows, but they fluffed their attacks. Colin then activated his Skyreach Bowmen and the finished off my Crossbows. Damn!!!
Doran took the Water gardens and spent his tokens to heal, weaken, shift and draw a card.
I retreated just enough to stay close and shoot
Colin activated and rolled just enough to make a successful retreat. Nice!!!
I activated the Widowers unit and took the centre objective
So Obara and her Royal Guard charged in...
They dropped a rank off of my Golden Company Swordsmen, but my Elephant flanked them and with a vicious panic, killed seven in total. Colin had played Rising Temperatures on it's activation.
The Elephants attack allows no defence save, so Shieldwall didn't work
Unfortunately, my Elephants defence saves were very poor when it was flanked in turn by the Dune Vypers

Colin played his second Sand Diplomacy, so I blocked bags and Colin blocked Swords.
I activated the Golden Company and Widower, doing 4 auto hits but they passed three of them. My attacks were poor, with only two more Guard dying due to Shieldwall and poor rolls.
And Desert Preparation made me Weakened & Panicked
Elsewhere, the Martells were suffering at the hands of the Targaryen cavalry
The Dune Vypers finished off the Elephant
And I took the Sand Diplomacy hit, taking the Swords to finish off Obara and score additional points (I had forgot about that, Colin pointed it out. I just wanted to kill something)
My right side Crossbows failed to finish off the Starfall Knights...
And Colin healed the Knights, before the Spearmen charged in to Jokin. I have never seen Martell Spearmen perform so well, as despite my Adaptive style defence, I lost five men
I even failed my morale check!!!
Healing some more from Doran, the Knights then charged home to finish me off and kill my commander

The Dune Vypers flanked my Widowers Swordsmen
I had Varys take the Swords
But attacked with the Crossbowmen, trying to get theme pesky Knights. Three hits saw Colin make all three saves.
Shooting with the Sky reach Bowmen, the Widower survived on his own after a failed panic check
I tried again to kill some Knights but failed to even hit this time...
And then Colin had Doran take the Water gardens and spend some tokens...
Doing one wound on the Widower. Dick move!!!
He also healed the Starfall Knights. The Spearmen then charged in, dropping a rank before Colin used Horses to retreat and then charged home with the Starfall Knights...

Not much I can say about that, Doran v my One NCU gave Colin complete control for boosting. My only highlight was those Crossbowmen saving in the Woods. Colin's exact words were not for polite company. He even had to go down stairs for a drink to calm down. (Note to self: must work on toning down my smug face). Colin played to his strengths and didnt really put a foot wrong, where as I became obsessed with killing those Knights. Comfortable win for Colin.
NO more Battle reports this year but my Brotherhood without Banners are on their way from Warfactory, Poland , whose stock is apparently "a lot"
